Rapid Response!
Last Monday (3/11) around 1.00am I was praying in the prayer room for a friend, that God would speak into his life and make His will for him abundantly clear. I prayed that he wouldn't settle for a lesser vision for his life and that he would be open and receptive to God's plan and purposes. At around 8.00am that same morning I received a text message to say that God had spoken clearly to him and that he was now on board with God's agenda for his life. Praise the Lord for such a tangible and immediate answer to prayer!!

Partnership in Prayer
On Saturday the 5 th of July, some of our youth joined in prayer with other Youth from a small town in New Zealand. The opportunity came about when the Youth Leader from New Zealand found our 24/7 Onkaparinga Prayer website and contacted us via email.
An email address and internet connection was set up in our prayer room and many emails were sent back and forth with encouragement and prayer requests.
We look forward to committing to pray with our brothers and sisters from NZ again in the future. A true Partnership of prayer.

Searching For A Local 24-7 Prayer Room
Inspired by the book "Red Moon Rising", Lili searched the internet to discover local expressions of 24-7 Prayer and was very excited to find a Prayer Room in the City of Onkaparinga.
Lili, the youth leader at the Morphett Vale Seventh Day Adventist church, enthusiastically emailed me to find out how her youth group could get involved and to arrange a time to meet at the prayer room. We met together with her Pastor and one of her youth group members and shared in this vision of 24-7. They were delighted with the room and couldn't wait to sign up for their first hour of prayer.
It was such a pleasure sharing with other members of the body of Christ in this way and broadening the partnership with God's vision to transform our community through 24-7 Prayer!

Spending An Hour In Prayer
Keen to do his part, John Robinson put his name on the roster to spend an hour in prayer during the week of prayer leading up to the Red Shield Appeal. Although he put his name down, John was quite worried as to how he would be able to pray for a whole hour.
Using the resources made available to him, he set himself up a home and began to pray. To his great surprise he was only two minutes short of a whole hour.
With his signature great big smile, John says "If I can do it, anybody can!" John is now eager to sign up for another hour of prayer.

Meeting Jesus
I would love to share with you a very special moment I had last Thursday morning with a lovely lady.
I first met her soon after we opened the Thrift Shop last July, over the following months we chatted whenever she came in and although I got to know her reasonably well it was never on a particularly deep level. She is a single mum with 2 children who like most people has her own daily challenges, particularly being a sole parent.
Last Thursday morning she came into the Thrift Shop and just wanted to talk - she asked me if I would sit down and join her in a cuppa. As we engaged in conversation she began to share with me some amazing changes she was experiencing in her life that she really didn't understand. These changes were all so good and so positive. Basically her value systems were changing - she was taking greater care of her children, preparing proper meals, making sure they were clean and enforcing healthy boundaries with them. She was starting to think about the future and shared with me a desire to work with the elderly and do something with her life.
As she was sharing this and much more information I really felt in my spirit that something significant had impacted her life. Then things began to fall into place as she began to tell me about the "Op" shop that she had been volunteering in, and about a group that she had started to go to every Tuesday and how much she enjoyed going to it. "Sometimes they prayed" she said, but mostly it was just a connection point, a place where she really enjoyed spending time. As she continued to share with me, going back into her childhood and beyond, there were many parallels I drew with her in my own life, so I began to share some of my own journey with her about my life before and after Christ.
Then the most beautiful thing happened - she said to me "So how do you become a Christian?" So I explained to her that it was a simple as praying a simple pray with a sincere heart inviting Jesus into her life and asking him to be her Saviour and Lord. We chatted for a moment longer, before I was prompted to ask her if that was what she wanted to do? She nodded eagerly and excitedly - so with that we entered the Prayer room where she gave her life to Christ.
As I reflected on this most precious moment and how God blessed me in it, I was reminded how so many times we invest much time and love into people and never see the fruit of our efforts, but nothing we do or say is ever wasted. We may not always see the final act of someone receiving Jesus but God uses us in the process of their journey. As with this lady there were so many significant people that God had placed in her life who influenced her making that decision last Thursday morning, I was merely blessed in witnessing the fruit of their faithful work for Jesus. PRAISE OUR AWESOME GOD!!!!

Spiritual Warfare
I have been recently made aware that there are two active witches covens operating in our immediate area and they are praying specifically against our churches. It seems that the presence of our prayer room is literally "shaking the gates of hell". Although I am not one to look for demons under every rock, I am very aware that we are engaged in a spiritual battle and the forces of darkness are real. Nevertheless, we worship Jesus who defeated Satan on the cross and it is to the victorious Christ we pray!
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand....And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." (Ephesians 6:10-13,18)
Overcoming Addiction
A couple of months ago, a young lady who has a drug addiction wandered into the Thrift Shop next door wanting to turn her life around. Deb, the shop manager, began building a relationship with her and God gave Deb an opportunity to speak into her life. Just before Christmas Deb was able to invite the lady into the 24/7 Prayer Room for prayer and the next day she came back into the shop all excited because she had given her life to Jesus! God is transforming her life and she is making positive steps to overcome her addictions.
Prophetic Word
WORD GIVEN TO PS. LEN AT 24/7 PRAYER ROOM 3/10/07
I would prophesy this My Word, into this House. This is My House. I have chosen this House to be My House of Prayer, I declare says the Lord. The impact on this district is yet to be felt but waves of My Glory are flowing over this area and will increase. As you pray to Me and lay all upon My Altar, I will come down and hear your prayers.
For I have given you an open heaven over this area. I will make this House a House of Light and people will know this is the place to seek My Presence, which will be soothing and peaceful.
This will be a House of Fire. As you sacrifice, the Fire will come to consume the sacrifice. I am anxious to pour out My Blessing in this Place says the Lord. This will be a House of Reconciliation. This will be a House of Salvation and many will come to Me at this time. This will be a House of Healing.
As you come and meet with Me, so My anointing will rest upon you. The Arise Christian Church will feel the impact of this place and the 2 places are linked says God with many intercessory prayers arising to Me. Just like Jacob struggled and prevailed with Me when he wrestled with Me, so you too will have a burden for this area. I will begin to lift that off you as you begin to pray for I am the Resurrection and Life. There will be an extension of what I am doing here in other places says God. For this is the day that the Lord has made. This is the day for this area, for this city, this state and this nation. Ramifications will be felt in the North, South, East and West, even as you have been calling them in through prayer, so I will call them and all involved will see a great blessing in their churches.
As My people repent, I will send the rain. First the natural and then the spiritual. You are on the verge of a great move of God says the Lord, as you reach out to Me in this place.
A Brush With The Law!
After a quite hour of prayer, Paul & Joan were leaving the prayer room and about to get into their car in the front car park where they noticed a police car tearing down Melsetter Rd towards the Huntfield Heights shops. One of them joked that they were coming after them, when to their surprise, the police car pulled into the car park right up against their vehicle blocking them in. The police officers questioned what they were doing there and were somewhat amazed to discover they were just praying! It seems that there was a kid making several hoax calls to the police from the phone box out front while they were inside praying.
Fortunately, the police believed Paul & Joan's story about being in prayer and were intriqued by the presence of a 24-7 Prayer Room in Huntfield Heights! In fact, they were very interested in what was happening with this set of shops and have invited us to meet with the police officer in charge of Huntfield Heights and Hackham to share what we are doing in this community.
O What A Night!!
What an extraordinary night we have experienced!! Tonight was the opening of our 24-7 Prayer Room at the Combined Churches Prayer Meeting and God showed up in an awesome way! A small, but I believe prophetic number of 24 people (given our goal of 24 hours of prayer) gathered in the prayer room to offer prayers of praise, prayers of repentance, prayers for unity, prayers for the lost, and to acknowledge the bridges God wants to build with a broken community and within the Body of Christ.
There was a spirit of unity and expression of praise like I have never experienced before!! Voices were raised, tears flowed, hands were washed and lifted high, communion was shared, candles were lit, prayers were uttered, Scripture was read and the Spirit of God MOVED!!
ALL PRAISE AND HONOUR TO OUR GREAT GOD!
Revolution Youth
At the beginning of the 24-7 Prayer Room the youth of The Salvation Army participated in the 40 Hour Famine with an exciting number of youth getting involved, mostly from a local high school. Since that week the average attendance at Revolution Youth has gone from 10 to 17 with 27 attending last week. The majority of these kids are unchurched and are discovering a whole new dimension of life through Revolution Youth. Jared, the Youth Ministries Coordinator, believes there is a direct connection between this growth and the commencement of 24-7 Prayer in this community.

Led by God's Light
On Sunday morning an aboriginal lady with 3 children turned up after the morning service wanting to meet with God. They returned in the evening to our first Sunday night prayer service and she shared with the group that she dreamed of a light that led her to our church.
